Important Information About Your Savings and FSCS Protection Dear Master Berliner, We are writing to let you know about two important updates relating to your savings with Chorley Building Society.   First, our new system will go live on 3 August 2026. This means the updated Terms and Conditions we previously sent to you in May 2026 will become effective from that date. Details are below:    From 12 noon Friday 31st July until 3pm Monday 3rd August 2026 Our telephone lines will be unavailable. If you need to contact us during this time, please email savers@chorleybs.co.uk. From 12 noon Friday 31st July until Tuesday 4th August 2026 All of our branches will be closed. Tuesday 4th August until Friday 14th August 2026 Our branch opening hours will temporarily change at all branches. We will open at 10.30am and close at 3pm each day.   On Tuesday 4th August and Wednesday 5th August Leyland Branch will be closed all day.    On Saturday 8th August all of our branches will be closed.  From 12 noon Friday 31st July until early afternoon Monday 3rd August 2026 Our Chorley Online Service will be unavailable while we complete the transition to the new service. During this time, you will not be able to view your accounts or request withdrawals online.    If you need to withdraw funds, please submit your request before 5pm on Thursday 30th July to allow enough time for your funds to be received.  Financial Services Compensation Scheme Second, as part of our annual obligation, we are providing you with important information about the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).   FSCS is the UK’s financial compensation scheme that protects customers of authorised financial services firms if they fail or stop trading. Further details about the Scheme and how your savings are protected can be found on the FSCS website: https://www.fscs.org.uk/. We also attach the FSCS Information Sheet and Exclusions List to help you understand the limits of protection and eligibility.
