Message from the Dean There are few UNC Charlotte alumni who embody the determination of Business Niners more than Robert A. Niblock. Robert, a first-generation college student whose father owned a small country store, earned an accounting degree from the Belk College of Business in 1984. In 1993, he joined Lowe’s, working his way up through the ranks to ultimately lead the company as chairman and CEO from 2005 to 2018 and as president from 2011 to 2018.
A few weeks ago, we were honored as Robert and his wife, Melanie, also a Belk College accounting alumna, continued their support of Belk College students with a second $2.5 million gift. The gift will create the Niblock Scholars Program, a new scholarship program for high achieving students with financial need. We will welcome our first cohort of scholars to campus in August.
Through a global pandemic, we remain committed to providing the best education and opportunities for our students and preparing them for success. We thank all of our alumni and friends for their continued support. |
