Re: [PanicZone] new aussie member

Hi Joe.

I decided not to drug the problem. That would have meant I still had to deal with the disorder then deal with the addiction to medication.

The version of ocd that I've got,or whats left of it,is called Functional Impairment. Its about not being able to take care of yourself and your hygiene. It stopped me doing everyday grooming. That kept going for almost 5 years.Everything was growing wild from my fingernails, toenails, hair, beard. My hygiene took a beating.I stopped being me and became a caveman.I looked foul.I've worn the same items of clothing everyday for over 4 years. The day after christmas, that stopped.I have clean clothes and clean linen.I've changed.Even here in these flats(aussie for apartments) it took my neighbours weeks to work out how I was.

I chose to find non medical practitioners.I wanted a cure.I found something that worked for me.Thats all that matters. Its taken ages and most of the ocd has gone.I won that battle.Every time I look in a mirror I see how much I've changed.Ocd stopped me doing all those daily grooming routines. The whole lot.I looked like a caveman.I was in pain.No drug was going to cure that.My organs are healthier too.

I've spent many $1000s to deal with my health.Everything that I did helped.I invested that money in me to be me again. And,I won.Just over this last 12 months my life has changed. Most of the things I couldnt do I can now do.The rituals are gone too.If I could afford more treatments I would.I barely get enough money to live on once I pay my rent, bills and shopping then I'm broke again. And,I have private health cover so I get some money back on treatments.

Here's what I did.I discovered in 1997 that there are chiropractors who do something called muscle testing. Its all the techniques that go with that makes the difference. The more a chiro can do the better. They are usually trained in various school in the USA.Closer to home now want to be chiro can be trained in New Zealand to learn all these muscle testing techniques.Your local chiro association can suggest who does it. My chiro doesnt understand why I understand how it works. He wants me to be a chiro.

Ask a chiropractor to check for all and any subluxations.Get them to get rid of as many as they can find. Its very good for the body. They'll know what you're talking about.

In 1998 I heard about something called Neuro Emotional Technique.N.E.T for short.Thats been around for 25 years now.I had a lot of that done. Its very popular.I can provide a link privately or through the group if I get permission. Its great.I made a list of every emotional issue I could think of.It took a note book several pages.Just kept adding them.As I got treated we went through that list.More subluxations were found and got rid of them too.

I tried some Kinesiologists.I even tried a kinesiologist/rebirthing practitioner. He managed to turn down the flight/fight response right down. Its great.I only had one treatment. He couldnt help me further.

One chiro put me onto Lymphatic drainage.A massage by massage therapists.I fell asleep. Its was so relaxing. It pushes toxins out the body. Its a nice way to do a safe detox.

Here in Australia we get a bi monthly newspaper called "Innerself".Its got a lot of forms of treatment/practitioners.Its a good read.I found a few practitioners in there.I had home visits too.It just cost a little extra.

I looked outside the so called square and found things that helped me.I'm bored more than anything despite having cfs and agoraphobia. I function really well in my mind.I live comfortable. Most of the ocd has gone.

Sorry for long email.Hope you can use the information. If I can help further please ask.

Chris.

Non medicinal? You don't take anything? Well I would do anything to get better. I don't want to take meds but
I need to get better. It's been too long, too painful. So anything you know , I'd appreciate knowing
about . Thx .Joe

Hi.

I've just joined this group.

I have ocd, agoraphobia and chronic fatigue syndrome (cfs). Its a great mixture.Makes a mess of your life.

I'm dealing with my life as best possible. The ocd stopped me doing many things. It changed me,it changed the way I look.My life is somewhat boring because of my problems.I'm functioning in my mind very well.I've been treated by an alternative health care practitioner so most of the ocd has gone. The cfs has eased off and I'm making great progress. These last 10 months have been extremely busy as I have gone through my entire time and have removed the items I would through out.Its so clean now.My practitioner calls in for a visit regularly and he's amazed at how much I've changed. That must be a good feeling for him.

I'll keep this email brief.

Thanks.

Chris.
