Hi, Dee.
At least you know what your panic attacks are caused by. Many of us do not.
In your situation I'd advise getting an 'air horn' from just about any sporting
goods, hardware or perhaps even Wal-Mart or some place similar. They are used
for emergencies and sound a loud, piercing horn-like squeal. You can get small
ones that fit easily into your purse or pocket.
They work great. I used to work in Aspen, Colorado and on many occasions
came across a bear -- or two -- or three! The horn would scare him/her/them
away.
I would imagine the bear(s) in your area are of the 'black' variety. They are
much
more docile than brown bears. In any case get an air horn. It's much cheaper
(and often more effective) than going to a therapist!
Good luck.

Subject: [Panic-Attacks] Introduction
Hello,
My name is Dee, I'm a wife and mother of 2 boys. We live in NJ where there are
quite a few bears.
I've always had a fear of bears but now it is very intense. We saw a fresh bear
print in front of our door. Now I am getting panic attacks and cannot go out by
myself. It's a big problem as I have to pick up my son everyday from school.
I'm desperate for help. At present, I'm looking into going back into
neurofeedback therapy. It helped the last time. The insurance doesn't cover it
so I'll have to see.
Hoping to get to know some of you.
Dee

Hi Nicole, that's a good idea. I have researched what to do and will lookup the wildlife resources.
When I'm not on the zoloft, I tend to get panick attacks and become agoraphobic. It stinks so I stay on the zoloft. Helps to know other people experience the same.

Have you talked to the local police or wildlife resources to ask about prevention or how to deal with something should it occur? Maybe that would help you to feel safer.
